Football Recap: Perry Central Takes a Loss

Perry Central extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 0-9. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 23-20 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mitchell Bluejackets. Surprisingly, this marked the Commodores' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Mitchell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mitchell was led to victory by Blake King and Kaden Mullis. King gained 90 total yards and two touchdowns, while Mullis gained 114 total yards and a touchdown. Mullis really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 82 yards.

Perry Central and Mitchell are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Commodores will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Daviess at 6:30 p.m. The Cougars' defense has only allowed 10.6 points per game this season, so Perry Central's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Mitchell, they will head out on the road to take on Linton-Stockton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
