Copper Hills made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Layton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Grizzlies put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp  11-1 win on Wednesday. Considering the Grizzlies have won six contests by more than seven  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Bryton Dawes made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   seven  hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news, Copper Hills let  Sadie Stringam and  Ellie Reynolds run wild. Stringam  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Reynolds  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. That  home run marked the first that  Stringam  launched this season.  Clarissa Hotton was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Copper Hills  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.
The  victory made it two in a row for Copper Hills and  bumps their season record up to 8-5. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6  runs in those games. As for Layton,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Copper Hills will face off against Bingham at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Layton, they will take on Syracuse at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.62  runs per game on average), something the Lancers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
