Basketball Recap: Newton Has No Trouble Against Pope John XXIII

Newton won the last time they faced Pope John XXIII and things went their way on Monday too. The Newton Braves ended the year with a bang, routing Pope John XXIII 57-37.

The win got Newton back to even at 2-2. As for Pope John XXIII, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newton will head out to challenge Parsippany Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Parsippany Hills likes a good challenge. As for Pope John XXIII, they will head out on the road to face off against Delaware Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
