Recap: Monroe Central Golden Bears vs. Northeastern Knights
It was a good run, but the Monroe Central Golden Bears unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a hard 61-45 fall against Northeastern. Monroe Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northeastern apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Monroe Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kimber Abshear, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds. Abshear scored a full 31.1% of Monroe Central's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Sydney Patterson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

That makes it two consecutive games in which Kircher has scored at least 25% of Northeastern's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Mikesell, who scored 14 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals.
