Recap: Alton Redbirds vs. Collinsville Kahoks
The Alton Redbirds lost against the Collinsville Kahoks back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Alton took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Collinsville. While losing is never fun, Alton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Collinsville is ranked seventh).
Collinsville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zach Chambers, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamorie Wysinger, who scored 16 points.
Alton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Collinsville, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Alton will take on Edwardsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Collinsville, they will head out on the road to face off against Belleville East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Belleville East and Collinsville are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
