Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Turkeyfoot Valley Area

While Turkeyfoot Valley Area didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out the Ferndale Yellow Jackets 5-4 on Wednesday. Those five runs were actually the fewest the Rams have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Luke Bowers was incredible, scoring a run and stealing five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win was the fourth in a row for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, bringing their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Ferndale, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Turkeyfoot Valley Area will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shalom Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flames have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Ferndale, they will head out on the road to take on Greater Johnstown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
