Softball Game Preview: Boone Toreadors vs. A-D-M Tigers

Boone is 1-9 against A-D-M since June of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Toreadors will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

A-D-M will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Boone extended their winning streak to four on Saturday. The Toreadors came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 11-10 W against Des Moines Christian.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask A-D-M). Everything went their way against Interstate 35 on Saturday as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Roadrunners recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Boone's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average this season. As for A-D-M, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Boone might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from A-D-M when the teams last played back in June of 2024. Can the Toreadors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
