Baseball Recap: Elgin Takes a Loss

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hendrickson Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 last Wednesday.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1. As for Hendrickson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-10.

Looking ahead, Elgin will be playing in front of their home fans against Weiss at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Weiss' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Elgin's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hendrickson, they will head out to square off against China Spring at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. China Spring will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Hendrickson surely won't give up without a fight.
