Baseball Recap: Augusta Takes a Loss

Augusta lost to Stanley-Boyd back in April of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Beavers lost 12-2 to the Orioles.

Augusta saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isac Mooney, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Those hits were Mooney's first of the season.

Augusta has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. Stanley-Boyd's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10.

Coming up, Stanley-Boyd will challenge Fall Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crickets will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Orioles surely won't give up without a fight. Augusta will be paying especially close attention to Stanley-Boyd's game: after Stanley-Boyd faces off against Ellsworth, they'll take on Augusta again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
