Baseball Game Preview: Crystal Lake Central Tigers vs. Hampshire Whip-Purs

For the second straight game, Crystal Lake Central will face off against Hampshire. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Whip-Purs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Crystal Lake Central didn't have quite enough to beat Hampshire and fell 3-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Hampshire's part, Joseph Rodriguez looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Rodriguez a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Hampshire saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Kolder, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The victory (which was Hampshire's eighth in a row) raised their record to 25-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Crystal Lake Central, their loss dropped their record down to 10-19-1.
