Basketball Game Preview: Los Gatos Wildcats vs. Gunn Titans

Los Gatos is 10-0 against Gunn since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Los Gatos Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Gunn Titans at 7:00 p.m. Los Gatos is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.1 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Los Gatos came up short against Mountain View and fell 48-41. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Spartans are ranked 401st).

Los Gatos' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Anthony Martin, who posted 19 points and three steals, and Zach Otoupal, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Martin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Even though they lost, Los Gatos smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gunn). They claimed a resounding 68-15 win over Design Tech. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Titans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Gunn's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Los Gatos, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.

Everything came up roses for Los Gatos against Gunn in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 71-41 victory. In that game, Los Gatos amassed a halftime lead of 37-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
