California waltzed into their match on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Skyline Titans by a score of 8-3.

Tommy Casserly looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Johnny Edwards, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelo Sherman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

California kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

California pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

California will challenge San Ramon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Grizzlies 3.8, the Wolves 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
