Softball Game Preview: Miller Rebels vs. Pacific Pirates

For the second straight game, Miller will face off against Pacific. The Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Miller's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.

On Monday, Miller got the win against Pacific by a conclusive 25-7. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won eight in a row.

Aubrey Clark-Alamo made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Leilah Quintana was excellent, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Torres, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Miller hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive contests.

Pacific has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Miller, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
