Baseball Recap: Old Fort Comes Up Short

Old Fort lost against Gibsonburg back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Stockaders fell 4-1 to the Golden Bears. The Stockaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Old Fort saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Adelsperger, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Andrew tackett also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Old Fort's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Gibsonburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Old Fort will head out on the road to face off against New Riegel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Jackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Stockaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Gibsonburg, they will host Woodmore at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
