Baseball Recap: Gorham Triumphs

Gorham not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 26, 2025 (when they won 20-1). They blew past the Sanford Spartans 8-1. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Miles Brenner and Hunter Finck made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Brenner tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Finck didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. At bat, Brenner went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Finck went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Washburn, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Gorham hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sanford struck out eight times.

Gorham's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-1-1. As for Sanford, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 1-1-1.
