Volleyball Recap: Edgewood Red Wolves vs. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers
If Edgewood was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Space Coast on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Wolves lost 3-0 to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers on Thursday. The Red Wolves haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Edgewood took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-18, 25-19.
Anna Ely paced Edgewood's offense, picking up seven kills. Ely got some help from Debbie Walley and her ten assists.
Natalie Ruberte was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 12 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high.
Having lost for the first time this season, Edgewood fell to 2-1. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Coming up, Edgewood will head out to challenge Melbourne Central Catholic at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they will host Rockledge at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
