Ridgeview Global Studies Academy extends road losing streak to eight

This season hasn't been kind to the Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers , who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They were beaten by Lakeland Christian 81-37 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Ridgeview Global Studies Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 782nd, while Lakeland Christian is ranked 367th).

Despite the loss, Ridgeview Global Studies Academy still got an impressive performance from Bryan Lopez, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lopez has scored all season. Leonardo Avila was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Lakeland Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joseph Donohue, who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Stephens, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lakeland Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Oasis Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Oasis Christian is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. Lakeland Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Santa Fe Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Santa Fe Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
