Baseball Recap: Milford Drops Season-High Score on Edgewood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Milford). They skirted past the Edgewood Cougars 19-18. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Jake McGrath was incredible, scoring five runs while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. Sam Kiger was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Milford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win snapped Milford's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-4 record. As for Edgewood, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milford will venture away from home to face off against Kings at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Edgewood, they will face off against Talawanda at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
