Preview: Spoto Spartans vs. Newsome Wolves
Spoto has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Newsome Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Spoto focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
Last Friday, Spoto narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lennard 54-52.
Jose Deleon was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Spoto's points. Another player making a difference was Deacon Spencer, who scored 10 points along with 6 assists.
Newsome kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Plant City by a score of 44-42.
Spoto now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Newsome, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Things could have been worse for Spoto, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-34 loss to Newsome in their previous matchup back in December of 2022.
