Rogers took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Southside, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mountaineers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Mavericks on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mountaineers have posted since September 16th.

Avah Brown paced Rogers' offense, picking up 21 kills. Brown got some help from Hannah Msall and her 33 assists. Teagan Henderson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

The win got Rogers back to even at 14-14-2. As for Southside, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 20-8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Rogers will challenge Springdale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southside, they will take on Bryant at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
