Basketball Game Preview: Kemp Yellowjackets vs. Mabank Panthers

The Kemp Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Mabank Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Kemp came up short against Canton and fell 57-45.

Meanwhile, Mabank also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Lindale by a score of 68-55. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Eagles are ranked 876th).

Kemp has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Mabank, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-5.

Kemp couldn't quite finish off Mabank in their previous matchup back in December of 2018 and fell 49-47. Can Kemp avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
