Volleyball Recap: Greenfield-Central Takes a Loss

Greenfield-Central was the 3-0 winner over Greensburg when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Pirates on Wednesday.

Greenfield-Central took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-18.

Alex Muegge paced Greenfield-Central's offense, picking up ten kills. Muegge got some help from Mia Reed and her 17 assists. Addi Rugenstein controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Greensburg to victory were Kirkley Lowe and Mya Comer. Lowe had ten digs and six assists, while Comer hit 83.3% for five kills and ten digs and four aces. Comer is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 32 games she's played dating back to last season.

Greenfield-Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Greensburg, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Greenfield-Central has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Speedway on the 23rd. As for Greensburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Triton Central on the 21st.
