Softball Game Preview: Clinton Red Devils vs. Chapman Panthers

Clinton hasn't had much luck against Chapman recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Devils will be playing at home against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Clinton's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Chapman's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Clinton took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Laurens with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Red Devils have won three games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chapman came out on top against Blacksburg on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Panthers took their contest against the Wildcats 8-5.

The team relied heavily on Ava Rackett, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Paisleigh Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Chapman, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
