Basketball Game Preview: South Lakes Seahawks vs. Oakton Cougars

The South Lakes Seahawks will head out on the road to challenge the Oakton Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Last Friday, South Lakes took a blow against Chantilly, falling 68-40. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Chargers are ranked 36th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oakton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past Westfield 61-33 on Friday. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

South Lakes has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Oakton, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.

South Lakes was taken down by Oakton 55-23 in their previous meeting back in January. Can South Lakes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
