Baseball Recap: Chittenango Takes a Loss

Chittenango was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jordan-Elbridge Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 on Thursday.

Mason Corlis made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Chittenango is 3-1 when Corlis posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. AJ Valente was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Chittenango's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Jordan-Elbridge, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chittenango will take on Mexico at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jordan-Elbridge, they will face off against Cazenovia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
