Soccer Game Preview: Venice vs. Los Angeles CES

The Venice Gondoliers will head out to challenge the Los Angeles CES Unicorns at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Venice is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Monday, Venice made easy work of University and carried off a 4-1 win. The Gondoliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit University with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hudson Payne, Billy Quinn, Alejandro Gamero, and Zack Lev.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles CES fell victim to Fairfax and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the Lions. Considering the last time the Unicorns couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Venice pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three games. As for Los Angeles CES, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-3.

Venice skirted past Los Angeles CES 1-0 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Venice since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
