Chipley is 1-9 against Walton since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Chipley Tigers will head out to take on the Walton Braves at 6:00 p.m. Chipley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Chipley fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Paxton on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 9-7.

Lauren Waits put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Jadyn Pettis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Brown, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Walton was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to North Bay Haven Academy. The match marked the first time this year in which the Braves were not able to get on the board.

Walton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Crowther, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Chipley's record now sits at 4-3. As for Walton, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Chipley suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Walton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Chipley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
