Section 3 Class B - West recap September 17, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Westhill, who defeated 132nd ranked Westhill, 43-14.
Homer scaled the state rankings by moving to 91 from 253 this week, the biggest jump in Section 3 Class B - West. The Trojans were able to make move up by besting Skaneateles 23-13.
Birdlebough's Billy Ostrander and Brock Maruscak have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-8 quarterback Ostrander has thrown for 153 yards this season, while Maruscak has 3 catches for 77 yards. Homer's Chris Brown leads the league in rushing yards with 118.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Gary Podsiedlik's team takes on Chittenango. The Trojans are in second place, while the Bears are in fifth place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Homer takes on Chittenango. The Trojans have allowed 19 points this season, while the Bears have given up 21. Homer allowed 13 points last week as it beat the Lakers.
Chittenango took down the Firebirds 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
