Softball Game Preview: Aubrey Chaparrals vs. Panther Creek Panthers

For the second straight game, Aubrey will face off against Panther Creek. The Chaparrals will head out to challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Aubrey is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

While Aubrey's win against Panther Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chaparrals narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 5-4.

Mya Cherry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Carmen Alexander was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.

Aubrey's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Panther Creek, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-5.
