Football Game Preview: Logan-Rogersville Wildcats vs. Hillcrest Hornets

The Logan-Rogersville Wildcats will challenge the Hillcrest Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Logan-Rogersville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Hillcrest likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Logan-Rogersville ended up a good deal behind West Plains and lost 55-41. The Wildcats have struggled against the Zizzers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gage Hale, who picked up 191 receiving yards and two TDs. His receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 127 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Frieze, who threw for 277 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 49-26 to Carl Junction. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 72nd).

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Logan-Rogersville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Logan-Rogersville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hillcrest in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 29-23 victory.
