Basketball Recap: Springer Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Springer can now relate to. They lost to the Melrose Buffaloes on the road by a 71-53 margin on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Buffaloes: they've now lost five in a row.

Springer's defeat dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Melrose, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 23-5.

Springer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Melrose, they will take on Maxwell at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Melrose knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Maxwell likes a good challenge.
