            Softball Recap: Medfield Warriors vs. Westwood Wolverines        
        
		
        
        
            Medfield dropped their record down to 4-8 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against  the Westwood Wolverines, falling  6-0. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in May of 2024.
As for Westwood, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.
For Westwood's part, Medfield's batters probably weren't too happy with  Bridget Mulkeen, who pitched a no hitter  and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up two walks). Mulkeen has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side,  Mia Poles was  excellent,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Sasha Marino, who  went 2-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Medfield will square off against Medway at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Westwood, they will challenge Ashland at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. The Wolverines are facing the Clockers at the right time seeing as the Clockers are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
