Volleyball Recap: James F. Byrnes Wins High-Profile Matchup Against May River

James F. Byrnes faced May River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Rebels walked away with a 2-0 win over the Sharks. That's more bragging rights for the Rebels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

James F. Byrnes never let May River on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-15.

The victory made it two in a row for James F. Byrnes and bumps their season record up to 5-9. As for May River, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8.

Coincidentally, James F. Byrnes and May River will both be playing Airport the next time they take the court. The Rebels will head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Sharks will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
