Soccer Game Preview: Pine vs. Benjamin

The Pine Knights will square off against the Benjamin Buccaneers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Benjamin is hoping to do what St. Edward's couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Pine's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Pine put the hurt on St. Edward's with a sharp 6-1 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Benjamin earned a 6-4 victory over Treasure Coast on Tuesday. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Titans are ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Benjamin and bumps their season record up to 10-1-1. As for Pine, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Pine beat Benjamin 2-0 when the teams last played back in November of 2021. Will Pine repeat their success, or does Benjamin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
