Baseball Recap: Challis Comes Up Short

If Challis was feeling good fresh off their 24-16 takedown of West Jefferson on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Firth Cougars on Monday, falling 21-4. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Challis saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gunnar Shodin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. Roy Jones was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Challis' defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Firth, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.

Challis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Firth, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 5-4 loss against Salmon on the 21st.
