Football Game Preview: Crean Lutheran Saints vs. El Dorado Golden Hawks + How To Watch

The Crean Lutheran Saints will head out to square off against the El Dorado Golden Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crean Lutheran is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Saturday, Crean Lutheran got the win against Foothill by a conclusive 40-14. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-0.

It was another big night for Caden Jones, who threw for 370 yards and four touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 300.3 passing yards per game. Ty Johnson was in the mix as well, providing Crean Lutheran with two TDs.

Crean Lutheran didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Foothill to a completion percentage of just 38.9%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Mateo Munoz and Ethan Haugsland, who each logged one passes deflected. Crean Lutheran hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.77 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, El Dorado played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 42-3 loss at the hands of La Habra. The defeat continues a trend for the Golden Hawks in their meetings with the Highlanders: they've now lost three in a row.

El Dorado's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Crean Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Crean Lutheran has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 159 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for El Dorado, though, as they've been averaging only 66.3 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Everything came up roses for Crean Lutheran against El Dorado when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 35-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
