Baseball Game Preview: Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes vs. Slinger Owls

The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes will head out to square off against the Slinger Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitefish Bay's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Slinger's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Whitefish Bay's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Cedarburg 6-0. The Blue Dukes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Slinger waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Suns by a score of 6-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Slinger got a great performance from Jackson Naber as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts Naber has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Chase Leverance was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mason Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Whitefish Bay pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Slinger, their record is now 13-2.

Whitefish Bay couldn't quite finish off Slinger in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Blue Dukes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
