Basketball Game Preview: Palo Verde Panthers vs. Centennial Bulldogs

Palo Verde is 0-10 against Centennial since January of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Palo Verde Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Centennial Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

Palo Verde is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Clark 59-23 on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their 15-point performance the matchup before.

Madeline Tsui was a one-woman wrecking crew for Palo Verde as she almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. Alize Rivera was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Centennial made easy work of Mullen back in December of 2024 and carried off a 59-37 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.

Palo Verde's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Palo Verde took a serious blow against Centennial when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 75-30. Can Palo Verde avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
