Basketball Recap: Pueblo Falls Despite Big Games from Asia Clark and Brooklyn Espinoza

If Pueblo was feeling good fresh off their 68-30 takedown of Cienega last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pueblo Warriors took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nogales Apaches on Thursday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Apaches earlier this season, when they won 41-26.

Brooklyn Espinoza and Asia Clark certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Espinoza dropped a double-double with ten points and 21 rebounds, while Clark posted 13 points and three steals. Clark is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Celine Lopez, who had four points and eight boards.

Pueblo's loss dropped their record down to 22-4. As for Nogales, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9.

As of now, neither Pueblo nor Nogales have any future games scheduled.
