Softball Recap: Summer Creek's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Summer Creek entered their tilt with Kingwood on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 6-3. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in March, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Cali Chapman was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Elaina Bonuelos, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Summer Creek's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kingwood, they moved to 23-4-1 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Summer Creek and Kingwood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 11th) will meet North Shore (ranked 253rd) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kingwood will square off against Humble at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (5 vs. 779).
