Volleyball Recap: Reedy Lions vs. Bishop Lynch Friars

If Reedy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mineral Wells on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the Bishop Lynch Friars by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Friars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Reedy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Bishop Lynch work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 26-24, 25-18, 13-25, 15-9.

Charlie Henderson paced Reedy's offense, picking up 15 kills. Henderson were helped by Paige Hawkinson and Karina Crowder, who contributed 22 assists each. Crowder was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Reedy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Bishop Lynch, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reedy will challenge Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
