Basketball Recap: Loving Takes a Loss

Loving was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers 58-17. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Sierra Rodriguez was Loving's leading scorer, having posted nine points.

Mesilla Valley Christian School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nevaeh Benjamin, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 15 boards. Benjamin has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katey Black, who posted 23 points and five steals.

Loving's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3.

Loving didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-25 loss against Jal on the 11th. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-22 win against Cloudcroft on the 11th.
