High school football: Top 10 high school football prospects in California

High school football is fast approaching as teams in California are preparing to hit the field later this month.

Ahead of the 2023 season, we are highlighting the top 10 returning seniors in the state according to 247Sports.

Aydin Breland of Mater Dei (Santa Ana) is the top-ranked player in California. The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder is regarded as a top 10 prospect nationally and the No. 1 defensive lineman. He recorded 24 tackles, four sacks and four pass deflections as a junior for a team that was ranked No. 1 in the country for much of the season.
