It was a good run, but Streamwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 49-32 to the West Aurora Blackhawks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sabres this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 33-28 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Streamwood lost, don't look at Brianna Coffey. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Coffey has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times she's played.

Streamwood's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for West Aurora, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Streamwood and West Aurora should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Streamwood will challenge Bartlett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 238 places (234 vs. 472). Streamwood will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Similarly, West Aurora (ranked 151st) will meet Ridgewood (ranked 511th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Streamwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.
