Softball Recap: Greenbrier East Takes a Loss

Greenbrier East had taken PikeView down for five straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Spartans fell 6-2 to the Panthers. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 9-3.

Greenbrier East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Heaster, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Sydney Norman also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Greenbrier East now has a losing record of 5-6. As for PikeView, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Greenbrier East will venture away from home to face off against Oak Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for PikeView, they will face off against Greenbrier West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavaliers have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
