Kewanee came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Orion, but Kale Filler wouldn't allow it. The Chargers breezed past the Boilermakers to the tune of 63-24 on Friday with plenty of help from Filler, who threw for 381 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in a pair of TDs on the ground. His passing game has become a key predictor of Orion's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-6 otherwise.

Owen Voorhees was Filler's top target, picking up 81 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 49 yards. Voorhees also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Orion didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Voorhees, Wyatt Steen, and Aidan Leingang picked up one apiece. Steen also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight. Orion got some further help from Max Larson: he made 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

With the victory, Orion broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6. As for Kewanee, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
