Baseball Recap: Pacific Grove Takes a Loss

Pacific Grove extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 14-12-1. They lost 10-2 to the Stevenson Pirates. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Breakers have suffered since March 27th.

Pacific Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Edmonds, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Stevenson, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

On Stevenson's side, Jacob Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Hall has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Stevenson let Phinn Thomas and Jonah Krasa run wild. Thomas went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Krasa went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most hits Thomas has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Tono Borgomini, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Pacific Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stevenson, they will challenge Monterey at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
