Baseball Recap: Central Hardin Beats Fort Knox for Their Third Straight Victory

Central Hardin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Fort Knox Eagles. The Bruins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Chase Price made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Price was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Central Hardin's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Devin Hubbard was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ethan Lewis also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win got Central Hardin back to even at 7-7. As for Fort Knox, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Central Hardin will host Owensboro at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Bruins' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Fort Knox has already played their next matchup (against Trinity), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
