Volleyball Recap: Royal's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Royal was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Chatsworth on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Highlanders fell 3-1 to the Oak Park Eagles on Wednesday. The Highlanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Oak Park scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 25-17.

Royal's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Oak Park, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Royal will square off against rival Camarillo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Oak Park is set to challenge their familiar foe Moorpark at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
