Basketball Recap: Jaysen Francois' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Family Christian Academy over Circle Christian

Family Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 69-60 loss to the Circle Christian Centurions. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly nine points.

Family Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaysen Francois, who went 11 for 22 on his way to 27 points. Julian Cabrera was another key player, going 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Family Christian Academy's record now sits at 1-8. As for Circle Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.

Family Christian Academy will square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Circle Christian has already played their next matchup, a 60-43 defeat against Lyman on the 7th.
